Nestle was started in 1866 after the first condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland. Nestle was founded by a German pharmacist named Henri Nestle. Henri launched a product called Farine lactée, a combination of cow's milk, wheat flour and sugar. The life of a neighboring child was saved when Henri fed this to him, and ever since then, nutrition has been the cornerstone to Nestle.
